Giving you the tools to help you heal

Licensed Professional Counselor and
a National Certified Counselor.

My name is David. I am the owner of D. Ernst Counseling. I am a country boy that loves to see people work through issues and take control of their lives.  I have a heart for trauma and couples counseling. I get the opportunity to do both when I help people work through their sexual addiction, Intimacy Anorexia, or marital issues.

I have been married to my beautiful bride for over 31 years. Some of those years were hard, for the both of us. I brought my childhood traumas, and insecurities into our marriage. It took time, hard work, and grace to get a Godly marriage, but now we have a marriage that has healed and has been beyond my wildest imaginations. Now we are looking forward to spending each minute with each other.

I moved to Colorado to study theology, but God changed that dream one day when I was talking to one of my accountability partners.  He said I should become a counselor, because I help him. I felt the Holy Spirit say I want you to become a counselor.  I talked to my bride, that night. The Holy Spirit said, “Yes I want him to become a counselor”.  I changed my plans and followed God’s and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Counseling at Nazarene Bible college. Then, a Master’s degree in Clinical counseling, from Colorado Christian University.

While in my programs, I learned that I am an eclectic counselor. I look at theories as tools. Not one theory works for every application. Just like a country boy, I use different tools for the different tasks.  The same works for me in counseling.  Everyone is different, with different issues, so different theories. Even though I am an eclectic counselor I do gravitate to Person Centered Theory. I am present and accessible with the client in their issues.

I would love to help you on your healing journey!

"The one-on-one sessions with David were amazing! He broke down walls, got to the heart of each argument and filled each conversation with God's grace."
